Dr. Keri Smith, Associate Professor in UNC’s the School of Data Science & Society, with a secondary appointment in the top-ranked Genetics Department, is a trailblazer in uncovering the therapeutic potential of noncoding RNAs. With a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (University of Georgia) and an MSQM (Duke Fuqua), Dr. Smith integrates machine learning and data science into precision medicine research. As a founder of a global STEM nonprofit, she is committed to advancing underrepresented groups in science and leveraging her expertise in data analytics, stem cells, and RNA biology to drive innovation at AmarnaBio.
